Sterling IRB is Recruiting Board Members: Pediatricians, Orthopedists, and Neurologists
Sterling Institutional Review Board (“IRB”) is currently recruiting physicians in the fields of pediatrics, orthopedics, and neurology. Candidates are sought to conduct reviews of clinical research protocols and present to the IRB findings/recommendations relevant to protections for human research participants. Candidates will serve as a “consultant” to the IRB during an orientation period, then on-Board as “alternate” panel members. No prior IRB experience is required, and Sterling provides a paid orientation and Onboarding program.
The time commitment for consultants and alternate panel members is limited to reviewing a protocol and preparing a presentation of findings (typically 3-4 hours per protocol) and attending a Board meeting to present/discuss findings (typically 1 hour or less).
Sterling’s administrative staff coordinates to schedule protocol presentations during IRB meetings convenient to consultants and IRB members. IRB meetings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at noon Eastern time, and on Tuesdays at 5pm Eastern. Attendance via teleconference is standard.
